Consultancy

Historic Conservation Consultancy

Our experience in consultancy ranges from individual monuments to large-scale archaeological sites such as Corfe Castle. Our consultancy service draws on our own long experience of materials, techniques and a huge variety of methods of intervention. We also benefit from having personally evaluated and re-assessed past projects over time.

Our art historical and archaeological background assists us in carrying out documentary research, providing a better understanding of a building or object's context, original intent and previous phases of intervention.

We offer detailed investigation of environmental conditions, decay mechanisms and structural stability based on surveys, trial studies and periods of monitoring. Our specialist team can provide rope-access fingertip and cover-metre surveys, which are undoubtedly the most fail-safe and reassuring solution at high-level. Where a project requires it, we can also draw on our established network of fellow professionals, including building archaeologists, ecologists and mortar and paint analysts.

We provide a client-focussed consultancy service based on our investigations, including scale drawings, photographic records, specifications, recommendations, programmes for future care, and advice on project management.
