The Reredos at St Mary Magdalen Church had become damaged and obscured by heavy deposits from atmospheric pollution, in particular the burning of candles. The highly decorative 19th century surfaces included intricate carving and polychrome. A programme of cleaning and enhancement was carried out with sensitivity to the original scheme, the result being a vastly improved panel with its legibility and original intent restored.
