The early 16th century statue of St Andrew at Bath Abbey was cleaned and repaired as part of the wider programme of conservation on the statuary on the west front during the 1980s. Damaging previous cement repairs were removed and the piece was carefully conserved using armatures and mortar repairs to redefine the detail, taking care to avoid conjectural remodelling. St Andrew was then treated with a carefully matched lime-based sheltercoat for protection.
